Punishments Encourage Children to Lie

Children are motivated to lie when they make mistakes because they want to avoid punishment.

Incurring more severe punishments when they lie will only cause them to make better lie or cover up their lie, rewiring their brain to be better liar.

Taking punishments out of the conversation leaves children with just two choices: to lie or not to lie. They now have the autonomy to choose to be what kind of person they want to be, without worrying about the punishment.
