When we introspect, we believe we have done a deep search of ourselves and therefore are convinced that our observation is valid.

However, when others do the same, we can assess more clearly and doubt their observation even if they believe in theirs.

What others and we do are not different, but we believe our introspection is more reliable than theirs.
